Full mouth restorations are intended to patients who have multiple missing teeth, numerous teeth with large fillings that are failing, or teeth that are decayed, cracking, excessively worn, or broken. Other patients with conditions such as Ectodermal Dysplasia, Amelogenesis, or Dentinogenesis Imperfecta may also be candidates for a full mouth restoration. In this case, either implant-supported dentures or an implant-supported full bridge is most commonly used. Implant-supported dentures are mentioned above. Implant-supported bridges, on the other hand, are dental bridges that are supported by implants rather than natural teeth. With implant-supported bridges, implants are placed in the spaces left by missing teeth and the crowns are connected, forming one continuous piece.
